74% of French Muslims under 25 years claim to put Islam before the Republic, while they are 25% among 35 years and older, according to an Ifop poll.
Young French Muslims say they are more radical than their elders : this is one of the lessons of the Ifop poll published on 2 September for Charlie Hebdo and the Jean-Jaurès Foundation. At the question : « Do you put your religious convictions before the values of the Republic ? », 74 % of French Muslims under 25 years claim to put Islam before the Republic, while they are 25 % for the 35 years and older.
Other data : and 61 % of French Muslims share the statement " Islam is the only true religion » (a result up 6 % compared to a survey of 2016), they are 65 % Muslims under 25 years supporting this vision ; 73 % of 25-34 years and 53 % over 35 years. otherwise, 45 % of French Muslims under 25 years think that " Islam is incompatible with the values of French society », while 24 % over 35 years share this opinion.
Another Ifop poll for Le Point shows that mosque attendance on Fridays for 18-24 years has almost doubled in ten years : of 23 % in 2011 at 40 % in 2019.
